Key Responsibilities
The Color Development Specialist will be responsible for the mixing and formulating of coatings and tints in order to protect/decorate surfaces using spray guns. He/she will also provide warehouse support when required, assisting warehouse management and staff in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional product and service.
- Mix and formulate coatings and tints to protect/decorate surfaces according to customer specifications
- Read job orders and inspect surfaces to determine procedures and materials required
- Answer technical lacquer inquiries from end user customers regarding wood coatings products, systems and application techniques
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
- Maintain a color match record keeping system
- Provide warehouse support when required, assisting with inventory management, shipping/receiving, forklift operation, etc.
- Provide support to customers when needed
- Work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and overall customer satisfaction
What We Are Looking For
- Related experience in a similar position
- Must have an excellent “color eye” as determined by Farnsworth-Munsell test. Experience tinting paint, stains, and/or lacquer would be very helpful.
- Must be able to, or be willing to learn how to, operate a stand-up forklift
- Must have a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Must maintain an orderly work area, have good time management and organizational skills
- Must have a basic math aptitude and strong computer capability
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- High school diploma required, 1 or more years of post high school studies preferred

- Continuously required: standing, utilization of visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
