Position Summary: Qualified candidates are individuals that are motivated to have a positive impact in the lives of teenagers. The OBHW is an integral member of the Ridge Maine team. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the health and safety of residents throughout the evening and overnight. The OBHW position works closely with our daytime BHWs to support residents through the transitions of their morning and evening routines, by building rapport with residents within appropriate professional boundaries; creating opportunities for residents to rediscover values and develop skills to cope with challenges; helping students develop a relationship with the natural world and learn how to get along with others in healthy and cooperative ways; evaluating the results of students' choices; and encouraging residents to develop improved strategies and problem-solving skills.
Position Functions & Responsibilities:
- Remain awake, alert and responsive to the needs of the residents throughout the shift
- Monitoring security cameras throughout the overnight hours
- Performs routine bunk checks according to program procedure
- Maintain 100% supervision at all times, providing constant emotional and physical support to students
- Ensure the well-being and safety of residents throughout their entire shift
- Respond to program, behavioral and medical needs in accordance with Ridge Maine policies and procedures
- Maintain program expectations and encourage healthy growth in our residents
- Assist residents with daily activities such as preparing for the day, cleaning and cooking
- Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services as needed
- Work in conjunction with the day team in the milieu at the end of day and/or beginning of day
- Update templates for residents’ daily notes
- Document residents' progress and any changes in daily notes
- Review and maintain familiarity with residents individual plans
- Report significant safety, facility, health or behavioral issues to the on-call manager
- Routine light cleaning of the facility, such as sweeping, dusting, washing dishes, laundry
- Actively participate and contribute in training and continued professional development
- Other duties related to creating a positive, clean, and safe environment
Available Shifts: 6:30 pm to 7:30 am or 8:00 pm - 9:00 am
Rate of Pay: This is an hourly position with a range of pay from $20 - $23, depending on experience, certification, and education. There is a $1.00 shift differential for hours worked on the weekends.
Organization Summary: Ridge Maine's mental health residential treatment centers are dedicated to providing healing and peace to adolescents aged 12-18 who are suffering with depression and anxiety, often accompanied by dual diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, PTSD, OCD, and Personality Disorders. The Programs operates within a safe, structured and nurturing environment, employing multidisciplinary evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address the complex needs of its clients. Required/Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass extensive background checks, including fingerprinting
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience working directly with youth preferred
- Experience with behavior and group management a plus
