What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Manager position at Ridgeline Telecom?
OVERVIEW:
The IT Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the company’s computing needs. We are looking for a person to set the strategy and take a pro-active approach towards best practices and IT policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and coordinates all IT-related matters including data, wireless communications, mobile technology, VOIP, security, and computer hardware and software – including day to day support.
- Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Selecting and purchasing new replacement hardware and software when necessary.
- Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying systems and hardware to operate effectively.
- Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Develop documentation on all processes and procedures for IT function and communicate best practices for optimal desktop/laptop performance.
- Spearhead various IT projects which include new office buildouts, conference room setups, employee desk relocation, and event space support.
- Evaluating technology risks in order to develop network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
- Build long term relationships with outside vendors for IT related products and services
- Other job duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience working/leading IT operations.
- In-depth knowledge of IT industry trends/standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Expert level of proficiency with MS Office suite and related business and communication tools.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
