What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at RIDGEWOOD COUNTRY CLUB?
Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their assigned tables and present menus
- Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor the waiting list
- Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information to callers
- Manage the flow of guests in the dining area and ensure efficient seating
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Collaborate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate as necessary
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members
- Strong guest service and guest relations abilities to create a positive dining experience
- Knowledge of food service procedures and hospitality standards
- Proficient in phone etiquette to handle incoming calls professionally
- Familiarity with POS systems, specifically Aloha POS, for order entry and table management
- Outstanding customer service skills to address guest needs and resolve issues effectively
