Summary/Objective
General Manager in a progressive machine shop, the candidate will be responsible for driving functional operation to growth. This includes working with and coordinating Operations, Quality and Front Office (purchasing, internal/external sales, engineering) leaders to meet and/or improve, production scheduling, Cost, and product quality. This is to be accomplished, while maintaining a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the day-to-day performance of the business, driving performance and development of all employees with department leaders.
- Leads production operations including working with operation supervisors, foreman and production leads to adjust staffing and process to ensure production meets the schedule deliveries.
- Acts as an active change agent to drive cultural changes while improving morale through Continuous Improvement projects / programs activities while maintaining a high degree of visibility and access to staff.
- Works with operations and engineering to evaluates manufacturing operations to determine improvements through effective metrics, capital, personnel, and process.
- Supports Quality Control to maintain quality standards while taking appropriate corrective action measures to resolve deficiencies.
- Leads the training, motivation, and coaching of staff in order to develop a culture that recognizes employee contributions and encourages participation in improving performance.
- Works with Operations personnel toward the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures that eliminates risk and disruption to production scheduling.
- Provides continuous improvement leadership by championing, supporting, and participating in cost reduction and synergistic changes.
- Drives an environment within manufacturing operations to ensure all employees work as a team.
- Insures all employees follow safety standards and meet training requirements.
- Provides the conduit and un-biased leadership to resolving production related issues with representatives from Engineering and other departments toward a goal of business improvement (cost, schedule and Margin) and Employee reward.
- Maintains knowledge of manufacturing equipment and machinery along with its capacity to meet production needs. Proactively identifies any potential barriers and approve and / or recommend solutions to the CEO, CFO and CCO that improve quality, production schedule performance and cost reduction. Monitor and understand new technologies to improve quality and efficiency.
Skills Required:
· Business or Manufacturing Leadership: Minimum of 5 years (Required) in a machining environment
· Good Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Good Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and ERP Systems.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time Salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and light travel requirements.
