HIV Outreach Specialist (multiple positions)
RipplePHX is a small, but mighty nonprofit in Phoenix, AZ. We are innovative, fast-paced, demanding and our goal is to address today’s HIV virus through impact-focused splashes of awareness, love, and celebrations of individual sexual expression as a back-to-grass-roots project created for our LGTBQ community. Our Team works each week to empower you to create your ripple by becoming informed, sharing the knowledge, and embracing at least one tool in the greater movement toward stopping the spread of HIV in our Community.

We are hiring for multiple positions. Everyone on the team does Outreach and Recruitment – then everyone focuses on a specialty. We are looking for an Early Intervention Specialists, PrEP Specialist, and Social Media Specialist. Enthusiasm and Passion for the cause and for our LGBTQ community is the biggest job requirement. Compensation is based on the position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Outreach & Recruitment
- Be outgoing, enthusiastic and sex-positive while approaching community members in a variety of settings to talk about sex and HIV, regardless of status.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and a creative dialog with venues to create and deliver exciting outreach events that bring together people in our community who are disproportionately affected by HIV.
- Engage with the Phoenix LGBTQ Community with a spirit of sex positivity, finding sexual health solutions tailored to individual needs, pleasures and kinks, and encouraging ALL members of our community to engage in at least one tool to reduce the impact of HIV.
- Brainstorm new outreach events & venues, prep & pack for outreach events, setup & breakdown outreach events, and work outreach events in a variety of venues, including: bars, nightclubs, bath houses, festivals and more!
- Recruit Phoenix LGBTQ community members for HIV Testing, Prevention, and HIV Treatment Services at Outreach events with an emphasis on reaching people who don't typically seek these services on their own.
- Conduct HIV Testing (training provided) while maintaining clinical/HIPAA standards.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, credibility and empathy to clients.
Early Intervention Specialist (EIS)
- Assist newly diagnosed and out-of-care people living with HIV with linkage to medical care and referral to case management services and other services.
- Ensure newly diagnosed clients have a medical appointment within 30 days of initial EIS service.
- Follow up with your EIS clients for 12 months at regular intervals.
- Maintain client documentation per HIPAA, Ryan White, and RipplePHX standards.
PrEP Specialist
- Engage with community members after testing events to recruit for PrEP treatment.
- Partner with clients on PrEP appointments, ensure clients attend appointments and be the subject matter expert in all things PrEP for the client (and the organization).
- Build the PrEP client base through innovative approaches.
Social Media Specialist
- Build and maintain a social media strategy to promote upcoming events, recap completed events, and provide exciting sex-positive HIV education.
- Create and/or edit social media photos and videos for all social media channels with a focus on expanding our digital presence.
- Maintain exciting dialog and prompt responses to community members on all social media channels.
MUST HAVE
- Enthusiasm and Passion for doing the hard work.
- Basic Knowledge of HIV, including Prevention, Treatment & Testing.
- Commit to make HIV services accessible to the people who don't typically seek services on their own.
- A flexible schedule including working on nights and weekends, some nights up to 4am.
- Willingness to learn, be curious and impact focused.
- Access to your own, reliable vehicle – Valid Driver’s License – Valid Car Insurance.
- Ability to drive our mobile testing bus, The Chariot (with training).
- High School Diploma
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to actively participate at both indoor and mostly outdoor events for 6 hours.
NICE TO HAVE
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
