WORKING HOURS: This is a salaried exempt position. The incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of a twenty-four (24) hour seven (7) days a week establishment.
JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist administers Human Resources policies and procedures and/or programs. Performs professional Human Resources work in employee relations, training, employee development and related fields. Provides a full range of Human Resources support activities to all Tribal entities and departments.
ESSEENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets and explains Human Resources practices, policies and procedures to management personnel, employees and the general public;
- Counsels management personnel, supervisors and employees on such matters as employee relations issues, performance management, employee development and training, grievances and discipline process;
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of new or revised Human Resources polices or programs;
- Coordinate and participate in special projects or programs as assigned by the Director of Human Resources;
- Prepares written reports with recommendations and implementation procedures for the Director of Human Resources, management personnel and/or Board of Directors;
- Assists in the administration of employee relations to include staff assistance and research, and respond to employee grievances;
- Prepares internal employee communications regarding Human Resource policies and procedures;
- May develop and present training programs on Human Resources related topics;
- Maintains complete confidentiality at all times;
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures;
- Attends all required meetings and training;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum three (3) years of journey-level Human Resources experience required; prior generalist experience preferred;
- Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices of human resources administration required;
- Knowledge of state and federal employment law including HR technical knowledge of, FMLA, unemployment, and worker's compensation.
- Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Must be able to analyze data, develop comprehensive reports, make effective oral presentations of findings;
- Must be able to communicate ideas and information in a clear, organized, accurate and timely manner;
EDUCATION:
- Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field required;.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in business administration with an emphasis in Human Resources preferred.
- Professional Human Resources Certification preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English and Spanish (preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
- Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.
- Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR-SPHR or THRP) Certification preferred.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must have a valid California Driver's License and be insurable under River Rock Casino and Dry Creek Rancheria's Automobile insurance and be able to meet insurance requirements regarding driver record in order to utilize vehicles.
- Must be able to obtain a Class A gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
