River Valley Power and Sport - Marine is looking to hire an HR Generalist who can make an immediate impact to the Human Resources Department. This is full-time position housed at our Corporate office in Red Wing. The Generalist will provide support to our three locations; Red Wing, Rochester and Minnetonka.
Summary:
This position will provide administrative day-to-day support, across multi-locations within the business, related to the talent acquisition process through the onboarding cycle, manage benefit administration, safety program, and HR compliance. The HR Generalist will lead all recruitment efforts utilizing new and creative mechanisms to source candidates and evaluate candidates using established criteria. In addition will serve as the point of contact for benefits, personnel records, hiring and onboarding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Full cycle recruiting possessing a proven track record of providing support in the areas of sourcing, screening and scheduling candidates for interviews.
*Manage the job posting process for open positions.
*Assist managers with updating and/or creating job descriptions for existing and/or new positions.
*Post job announcements in various recruitment websites and social media.
*Partner with new employees and hiring managers for onboarding.
*Process new hire paperwork and confirm new employee eligibility to work in the United States using E-Verify.
*Prepare and send new hire offer letters.
*Assist in process documentation and reports relating to the performance review process.
*Responsible for accurately enrolling employees in benefits and support on-going questions.
*Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
*Serve as point of contact for HR policy and compliance questions and concerns.
*Develops and communicates employee handbook policy updates, facilitating distribution and posting of new policies.
*Maintains employee files in an organized manner, filing documents, and ensuring information is accessible when needed; both digital and physical.
*Serve as a backup to payroll specialist.
*Serves as the point person for worker’s compensation.
*Oversee company safety program and OSHA compliance.
*Ensures compliance with legal notifications and posters.
*Conduct exit interviews.
*Attend conferences and HR training as applicable.
*Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
*Minimum Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology Business Administration or related field is strongly preferred.
*Minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience in human resources.
*1-3 years of recruitment experience (high volume).
*Minimum one year of experience of benefit administration.
*SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.
*Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of human resources (unemployment and labor laws).
*Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
*Ability to manage the initial phase of the employment life cycle (job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, etc.). Experience with various interview formats, including phone screening calls, in-person interviews and group interviews.
*Experience evaluating candidates for various roles in all levels of the organization.
*Knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
*Solid organizational and time-management skills.
*Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
*Strong computer skills, including HRIS experience, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook).
*Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
*Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance.
*Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
