Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Controller, responsible for accurate and timely accounts payable processing, reviewing payroll time edits and processing of accounts receivables. Provides assistance to the CFO with special projects as needed.
This position requires the ability to perform office work directly related to management policies and/or general business operations and in accordance with current applicable federal and state guidelines and regulations while exercising confidentiality, discretion and sound judgment under very general supervision.
- Tabulates charges provided by various departments for resident billing. Prepares and distributes monthly statements to residents and/or responsible parties. Handles resident billing inquiries; uses own judgement to resolve disputes. Responsible for all accounts receivables processing.
- Collects all bills and invoices from Department Heads. Enters invoices into Accounts Payable system for payment of bills, at least weekly; prints checks, processes ACH and purchase card payments, secures required management and/or officer’s signatures and mails payments. Responsible for all accounts payable processing.
- Reviews time edits with department heads and prepares bi-weekly payroll hours for payroll processing. In the absence of the HR/Accounting Assistant, oversees distribution of checks to department heads.
- Maintains various accounting reports & reconciliations.
- Completes assignments with efficiency and accuracy and within established timeframes.
- Consistently maintains confidentiality and exhibits professionalism when responding to staff/resident questions. Directs others to Director of Human Resources and/or Controller when questions/concerns arise outside scope of responsibility.
- Assures that all staff/residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self –determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are implemented and maintained.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with minimum five years of relevant experience required; Bachelor's degree in business with concentration in accounting preferred, plus minimum two years of relevant experience.
- Strong computer skills including demonstrated experience and proficiency with various spreadsheet and data base software required. Working knowledge of ADP Payroll/HR software experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi task and ability to work with limited supervision required.
- Health care experience and/or experience working with the elderly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
