What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charge Master Coordinator position at Rivers Health?
Under the supervision of the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, is responsible for verifying appropriateness and accuracy of the revenue charging process by performing chargemaster (CDM) maintenance and other applicable duties as assigned.
Major Responsibilities
1. Assists in maintaining the CDM by incorporating new charges/services and updating existing charges.
2. Builds new charges for any revenue producing department by reviewing, assigning and validating CPT, HCPCS, revenue codes and pricing
3. Manages daily operations of the CDM and ensures that all CDM requests are processed and issues are resolved in an appropriate timeframe
4. Works with Provider Practice administration on correct RVU assignment and reporting
5. Ensures the ongoing accuracy and integrity of the CDM by making sure all charges are communicated and coordinated with the performing departments
6. Ensures necessary changes to charge documents and charge capture processes are implemented
7. Assists in revolving problems causing payer denials of failed edits as they involve the CDM
8. Manages Price increase(s) in the CDM
9. Is part of the price transparency compliance team and ensures CDM files meet all regulatory requirements
10. Reviews account issues including charge audits, charge integrity, charge leakage, opportunities to improve revenue capture
11. Responsible for reviewing and implementing applicable OPPS, IPPS and 340b updated requirements
12. Works collaboratively with all revenue producing departments to ensure all charges are being captured and documented
13. Responsible for CDM dashboard reporting
14. Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Requirements:
Job Requirements
1. High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
2. Bachelor's degree preferred
3. CPC or CSS certificate preferred
4. 3 years' work experience in hospital HIM/Patient finance required
5. Working knowledge of medical terminology, clinical terminology, and coding
6. Proficient computer skills.
7. Proficient with MS Office suites.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Proficient mathematical skills.
10. Outstanding people skills.
11. Strong organizational skills.
