As a Field Service Technician, you play a key role to our excellent customer service satisfaction reputation. You will travel to an assigned customer within a designated territory and provide timely and accurate repairs on all brands of heavy machinery. This will include troubleshooting, machine evaluation, repair, testing, and documentation. You will report to the service manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform field diagnostics, troubleshooting, and appropriate repairs on Komatsu, Takeuchi, Bomag, NPK, Gradall, Metso equipment with little to no direct supervision
Reference and interpret service, parts, and diagnostic software to determine problems/malfunctions and to verify repair specifications and parts needed
Meet time requirement guidelines
Escalate unresolved issues to Technical Communicators for further research and assistance
Accomplish repair by following parts ordering process, completing service reports, and giving appropriate verbal or written communications
Model safe work habits and always abide by all safety policies and procedures
Maintain service truck in working condition and keep it clean
Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor with customers, managers, and colleagues
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and/or Qualifications
Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics
Proficient with a laptop computer and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
Ability to write and communicate in English effectively
Strong customer service skills
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
Detail oriented
Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Must pass a background check and drug screen
Must provide your own hand tools required to perform work efficiently
Working Conditions
Ability to carry, push, and lift up to 60lbs
Ability to climb and stand for extended periods of time
Able to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)
Travel as assigned for training or to perform work at other locations, with possible overnight stays when required
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 4 years of successful hands-on experience or equivalent combination of technical training and in shop experience in Heavy Equipment repair, Komatsu and/or Takeuchi experience preferred
Experience driving a Class 4 or higher vehicle
