P. A. C. E. Officer ~ POLICE DEPARTMENT

(ProA*ctive Community Engagement)*

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of law enforcement experience.
• This position will be working as a Proactive Community Engagement Team member.
• The P.A.C.E. Team immediate supervisor will be the Administrative Captain, with Criminal Investigative Division Captain overseeing the operations.
• Must possess the technical skills and desire to conduct criminal/narcotics investigations and have a thorough understanding of interview/interrogations techniques, surveillance techniques, manage informants, manage confidential funds and understand criminal/narcotic statutes on state and federal level.
• Must be familiar with and understand how to validate a gang member, the NC General Statutes related to Gangs.
• Must be familiar statutes related to violent crimes on the state and federal level.
• Must be proficient in case management.
• Must have the ability to do research on specific topics, suspects, property records, crime statistics/trends and DMV records.
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have the ability to present/educate diverse audiences on various topics.
• Must be able to organize community events.
• Must be proficient In Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Must participate in an oral interview, presentation and other documents may be required.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
