Our client located in The Woodlands, TX is seeking an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk must have 3 years of experience, must be extremely detail oriented and must be a team player. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for entering Sales Orders and Purchase Orders as well as Billing. The Billing is very complex and requires extreme detail. The ideal candidate will also have experience with sales tax. Experience with NetSuite is a plus. This is a direct hire opportunity paying up to 28/HR plus bonus and benefits working in office and one day from home.
How you will make an impact
- Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable
- Post financial information to journals and ledgers
- Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes
- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Handle general accounting tasks: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Use a variety of sources to prepare statements and reports
- Support accounts payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
- Strong familiarity with Purchase Orders
- Billing experience preferred
- Solid understanding of NetSuite
- Sales tax experience
- Sales Support experience
- Outstanding data entry skills
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- 3 years of accounting experience required
- Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
