Robert Half is recruiting for a Staff Accountant with Audit Experience specifically with government municipalities experience. This will be a 3 month contract engagement. Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong background in auditing, particularly within the context of government municipalities. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of governmental accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial integrity and transparency of public entities.Responsibilities:Financial Auditing:Conduct thorough financial audits of government municipalities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance financial processes.Accounting and Reporting:Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with governmental accounting principles (GASB).Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for government entities.Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:Stay abreast of changes in government accounting standards, laws, and regulations.Ensure that financial activities adhere to relevant compliance requirements.Budget Analysis:Assist in the development and analysis of municipal budgets.Provide insights and recommendations for budgetary control and fiscal responsibility.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with internal teams, government officials, and external auditors to facilitate effective communication and cooperation.Clearly communicate financial information and findings to non-financial stakeholders.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement within financial and accounting procedures.Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
