What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Specialist position at Robert Half?
Collections Specialist with 2 years of hands on commercial or consumer collections experience are preferred. Collections requires an understanding of consumer and commercial credit and collections policies, procedures and best practices; financial transaction processing; knowledge of basic accounting procedures and customer service skills. The ideal Collections specialist will have a working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. Collections responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating the status of customer accounts, contacting customers for payment of past due invoices, setting-up and maintaining new customer accounts and researching and resolving conflicts such as duplicate invoices, incorrect purchase order numbers, pricing and other discrepancies that delay payment.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED is a MUST! Collections Specialist with 2 years of hands on experience are preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic accounting knowledge are necessary.
