We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Credit Union industry, based in Bothell, Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering a collection program for members with delinquent accounts, handling incoming calls, and processing insurance claims among other duties. The role requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and proficiency in using Microsoft Office. Responsibilities:• Administer collection program for members with delinquent loans, over-limit Visa accounts, and negative share accounts in accordance with established procedures.• Make quality contact with members who are past due and/or overdrawn to resolve account issues.• Handle incoming calls from members and staff through the department ACD.• Consult with members concerning hardship extension requests of loan payments for approval by management.• Assist staff with questions regarding collection activity and charge-offs.• Review and recommend delinquent/overdrawn accounts for charge-off and referral to outside agencies.• Process and review bankruptcy notices and insurance submissions.• Handle settlement requests for approval by management.• Process direct and indirect credit bureau disputes.• Manage ChexSystems reporting on overdrawn/charged off share accounts.
