Job Summary: As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing the financial aspects of our organization's operations. Your primary focus will be on cost control, cost analysis, budgeting, and providing recommendations to enhance financial performance.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze the cost of production, raw materials, labor, overhead and other expenses to identify cost saving opportunities and inefficiencies.
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cost standards to assist in financial planning and decision making.
• Monitor and analyze budgeted versus actual expenses and provide explanations for any significant variances.
• Manage and reconcile inventory records, perform inventory valuations, and ensure accurate cost allocations.
• Calculate and update the cost of products or services to support pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Prepare financial reports, cost reports, and cost accounting statements for management, highlighting key cost drivers and trends.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies related to cost accounting.
• Develop and implement cost control measures and cost reduction initiatives to optimize expenses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to gather data and insights for cost analysis.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate cost data and documentation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is a plus)
• Previous experience in cost accounting required.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
