Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Partners with Director of HR on Employee Relations by reviewing employee corrective actions to make recommendations to management team for corrective action & continuous improvement, responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment or discrimination.
- Assist HR Director with Wage/Salary Grading; on-going maintenance to ensure compliance with 501 (c)(3) requirements.
- Partners with HR Director to review, update, and communicate human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations. Act as SME for internal HR policy interpretation.
- Fields unemployment claim requests, provides responses as needed and participates in appeals hearings.
- Assists with data maintenance and integrity of the HRIS system. Runs reports routinely or as necessary to analyze data for ongoing issues, projects or functions.
- Serves as the workers compensation liaison to employees and leaders to ensure the work injury process is being followed. Ensures OSHA 300 and 300A logs are being completed as required.
- Serves as the liaison for FMLA/GLOA for employees and program leaders. Works with the HRD on ADA review
- Provides support to program leaders with onboarding of new staff, to include orientation, completion of I-9 and serves as resource for new hires.
- Provides support to recruitment screening process to ensure qualified candidates are routed to the hiring managers, interview, screen and recruit job applicants to fill all levels of job openings.
- Supports Director, Human Resources with HR special projects related to performance management, onboarding, employee engagement, retention, and turnover.
Requirements
- Prior HR Generalist experience
- Highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Proficient with office computer applications and software, as well as social media platforms
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Prior experience coordinating and implementing Open Enrollment is a plus
- Strong understanding local, state and federal laws
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
