Legal Assistants support lawyers directly, and may be required to supervise other legal staff such as legal secretaries or file clerks. The ideal Legal Assistant will have sound technical and computer knowledge as well as excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills. Three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department may be preferred. Candidate must have experience reviewing subcontractor and business agreements.What you get to do every dayCollaborate in the preparation and filing of legal papers/small claims matters in various state municipalities. Effectively communicate with internal team members and provide support to regional center locations. Review, compose, and edit correspondence related to unpaid customer accounts. Maintain and manage tracking of significant deadlines and follow-up on litigated matters for small claims cases. Assist in day-to-day general duties within the legal department and provide support with risk management as needed. Contribute to special projects and assist with licensing tasks as required. Perform additional duties as assigned.
