What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Secretary position at Robert Half?

Our client is confidentially seeking a legal assistant to join the uptown Charlotte office of this national firm. The candidate for this position will be successful if they are able to execute a variety of secretarial duties including working with attorneys, paralegals and other members of the firm with a series of administrative functions. Therefore, the candidate will have to have effective time management and organizational skills coupled with the ability to be detail oriented.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to 6 attorneys in transactional practice group;
  • Update and manage attorneys' calendars;
  • Track Attorney CLEs;
  • Ensure calendars and billing sheets are up to date;
  • Anticipate attorney and client needs related to matters under management;
  • First point of contact/representative for clients;
  • Arrange travel, appointments, conference calls, etc.;
  • Other duties as assigned




Requirements

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as a corporate legal assistant;
  • Detailed, accurate, and an ability to handle confidential information
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office resources (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with PDF software and related scanning and production utilities, and document management software;
  • Understanding of and experience with legal correspondence and court filing procedures is a plus
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets highly desired
  • Prior experience with AmLaw/large firm, preferred
