Job Posting for Part-Time Payroll Professional at Robert Half
Purpose: This position is responsible for timely and accurate processing of payroll, which includes entry and verification of payroll and time and attendance data and maintaining internal controls and audit trails. The Payroll Specialist will serve as primary point of contact for payroll, time and attendance inquiries. Primary Responsibilities:• Assign new employee IDs, maintain employee payroll records in ADP and on other Company databases by entering salary, exemptions, bank deposit deductions, voluntary deductions, 401k contributions, 401k loan information, etc. • Maintain strict confidentiality and provide employee payroll related information only as authorized to support Company business decision making.• Review hours recorded and follow-up with managers and employees on timecard discrepancies.• Reconcile regular and overtime worked, paid and unpaid-time-off taken, to ADP payroll reports on biweekly and monthly basis.• Reconcile W-2s annually.• Process bonuses, special payments, employee garnishments (track balances owed), child support orders.• Reconcile paid-time-off accrued, taken and balances to payroll and accounting systems.• Maintain multi-state tax rates in ADP; Open, close and follow up on state tax accounts.• Track employee training hours in California Employee Training Panel system. • Compile and file various regulatory labor payroll reports.• Serving as backup to the Receptionist, clerical and other duties as assigned.
