The Payroll Specialist will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Payroll Processing: Process payroll for government employees accurately and in a timely manner using designated software systems.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as government-specific guidelines and policies pertaining to payroll processing.Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, tax withholding details, and benefits deductions.Data Analysis: Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies, and take appropriate corrective actions.Benefits Administration: Assist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other government-specific benefits.Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required by government agencies, management, or other stakeholders.Audits and Reviews: Participate in internal and external audits of payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries, discrepancies, or issues.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll processing procedures and implement changes as needed.
