There's currently a position available through Robert Half at a Non-Profit firm for a Part-Time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.What you get to do every single day- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
