Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill an Accountant role for a company with operations in Reno. This position requires someone to be on site 5 days per week in Reno. This is a unique role where the accountant will be handling accounting for a number of entities, with a low volume of transactions. There is complexity in terms of inter-company accounting transactions, and with the volume of entities. The person in the role will handle everything from full cycle Accounts Payable, to full cycle Accounts Receivable, Bank, Account and Credit Card reconciliations and financial statement preparation and review. The person in the role will report to the CFO.
Day To Day Responsibilities
1.1 Regularly provides status of financial condition of the various entities by preparing special reports and supporting financial reviews with banks and outside accountants.
1.2 Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, and complying with federal, state and local financial legal requirements.
1.3 Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
2.1 Records cash and non-cash transactions, posting them to various General Ledger accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
2.2 Provides review and analysis of General Ledger accounts.
2.3 Posts and audits month-end and year-end journal entries, including year-end allocations from properties to legal entity level.
2.4 Produces monthly balance sheet and income statements and reconciles reports of mortgage/bank statements and depreciation/amortization schedules.
2.5 Prepares billings, and posts cash receipts.
2.6 Monitors accounts payable invoices, disbursements and 1099 processes.
2.7 Assists with collections and responds to issues and questions.

Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience in recording general ledger transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and 1099’s and a BS or AS Degree in Accounting.
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience
- Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Time Management - ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.
- Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations is required.
- Familiarity with General Ledger operations is crucial for this role.
- Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries is needed.
- Experience with Month End Close processes is a must.
- Knowledge and understanding of Intercompany Transactions is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is important for managing and analyzing data.
