Staff Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Simi Valley, California. The role is Accounts Payables heavy and is responsible for processing, recording and scanning accounting and finance documents into digital formats. They will also contribute to accurate recording and documentation of financial transactions. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Process and record invoices: o Receive and review invoices from vendors, to verify the accuracy of information such as purchase orders, quantities, prices, discounts and entering the invoices into the accounting system for payment processing • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts: o Compare invoices with purchase orders and receive documents to ensure that the goods or services have been received and are in accordance with the agreed-upon terms and conditions • Obtain proper approvals: o Collaborate with internal department to obtain necessary approvals for invoices, to ensure accuracy, and timeliness in accordance with payment terms • Prepare and process payments: o Schedule and prepare payments to vendors, including checks, ACH, electronic transfers or other payment methods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with payment terms • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies: o Regularly review vendor statement to reconcile any discrepancies between the vendor’s records and the company accounts payable ledger, resolve any outstanding issues or discrepancies o Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate payment processing • Maintain accurate records and documentation: o Keep detailed and organized records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payment receipts and correspondence with vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements • Assist with month-end and year-end closing: o Provide necessary data and reports to support the preparation of financial statement such as accounts payable aging reports, accruals and expense analysis • Sales Tax Compliance: o Calculate, prepare, and file sales tax returns in accordance with state and local regulations

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
