We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Palm City, Florida. The selected candidate will be a part of a team, working primarily in the finance industry. The role involves overseeing aspects related to accounts payable, data entry, asset management, tax filing, and inventory reconciliation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounts payable and credit card payments
- Perform data entry tasks efficiently, ensuring accuracy at all times
- Manage heavy assets and record all purchases accurately
- Prepare and file fuel tax returns as per the regulatory requirements
- Process mileage reports and manage inventory reconciliation tasks
- Use Excel to rebuild reconciliation files as and when required
- Transition from using Epicore to Sage Intact starting July 1st
- Conduct regular monitoring of customer accounts and take appropriate action when required
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Proficiency in Fuel Tax regulations and procedures
- Demonstrated expertise in Computer Data Entry
- Experience in Inventory Reconciliation
- Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes
- Familiarity with handling Disposals in an accounting context
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
- Familiarity with accounting software and databases
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles
- Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
