What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at Robert Half?
A client of ours in the Stockton area is looking to bring on a Systems Administrator. This is a 3 to 6 month (with possible extension) temporary to full-time opportunity and will require the individual to be 100% onsite, with expectations of infrequent local travel. Reporting to the IT Director, the Systems Administrator is responsible for support, installation, administration, maintenance, design and optimization of the client’s network. This includes virtual server/desktop environments to achieve high availability, performance of business applications, while maintaining in depth cyber security practices.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for and have the following skillsets:
• This individual will maintain, implement, and administer VMWare infrastructure including: vSAN, vCenter, VMWare Horizon, VMWare App Volumes, VMWare DEM
• Have Advanced Windows Server 2016/2019 knowledge and server administration.
• Have thorough knowledge of Active Directory and AD services including: DNS, GPO’s, DHCP and NTSF permissions
• Has knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Administration
• Has Experience working with and setting up VPN connections
• Possesses Intermediate to advanced cyber security skills
• This individual will analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems.
• Has intermediate to advanced network skills including thorough understanding of the OSI model
• The individual will recommend software and hardware enhancements, as well as application upgrades and support
• Has in-depth Windows 10 OS experience
• Has strong knowledge of current backup procedures for BC/DR
• Has experience with Storage Area Networks in a production environment
• Has Microsoft SQL Server Administration experience, MS Office, and Helpdesk support
• Is familiar with network resources such as: printers, scanners and other electronic resources/devices.
• Various other duties as assigned
Requirements
The individual most qualified for the Systems Administrator positions will have:
• Minimum of 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with Windows virtual environments
• 5 years of experience in network support or related areas
• Strong troubleshooting skills – ability to divide a problem quickly to find a solution
• A team player with excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to produce clear and concise documentation which will include but not limited to policies, procedures, user guides and network diagrams
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Willing and eager to help and train other team members
• Available to be on call to respond to requests to support 24/7/365 critical infrastructure facility
Salary : $40 - $50
