We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Jr. Project Manager/Technical Writer in Charlottesville, Virginia. This role is primarily focused on gathering and analyzing technical information to produce clear, readable documents for a range of staff within the Department of Information Technology. The successful candidate will also assist with project documentation, scheduling, and basic coordination tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare project plans, estimates, schedules, and other documentation according to the project lifecycle.
- Develop and present project status reports for internal stakeholders, customers, and leadership.
- Author, organize, and maintain complex technical artifacts such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flows, user guides, manuals, procedures, and formal communications.
- Gather necessary information from multiple sources to support the development, writing, formatting, and editing of technical and non-technical information for reports, manuals, procedures, processes, and other forms of documentation.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, prepare presentations, and capture meeting minutes.
- Create executive overviews and formal presentations.
- Support the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies.
- Manage and/or perform use case testing.
- Act as a liaison and interface to different business and technical units.
- Create, document, and execute project documentation as needed.
- Utilize and demonstrate proficiency in skills such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Database, EO/IR systems, Microsoft, AB Testing, AP Style, Computer Hardware, Deliverable, Design.
