Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving volunteer engagement efforts for our organization by spearheading strategic recruitment initiatives and fostering partnerships within the corporate and community sectors. This position entails the recruitment, training, and management of volunteer groups and individual members, with a focus on supporting college and career readiness programs. The Volunteer Coordinator collaborates closely with program coordinators and development staff to ensure alignment of volunteer efforts with organizational goals and objectives.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESVolunteer Recruitment and Retention:- Conducts recruitment, interviews, and placement of volunteer applicants.- Cultivates and sustains relationships with local volunteer organizations.- Executes comprehensive recruitment campaigns via various channels social media and targeted email outreach.- Collaborates with Marketing department to promote volunteer opportunities.- Identifies and attends community outreach events for volunteer recruitment.- Represents the organization at local, regional, and national volunteer recruiting events.- Organizes open house events and partnership opportunities with corporations.- Conducts facility tours for potential volunteers and coordinates large volunteer groups.- Facilitates informational sessions and volunteer orientations.- Matches volunteers to suitable opportunities and provides necessary training.- Supervises and maintains communication with existing volunteers.- Organizes volunteer recognition programs and special events.Office and Administration:- Collaborates with staff to develop a schedule of volunteer opportunities.- Ensures adequate staffing of volunteers across various operational areas.- Recommends efficient use of volunteers and future workforce needs.- Develops and maintains volunteer policies, procedures, and service standards.- Manages volunteer database and provides regular reports on participation.- Supports Program Coordinators in scheduling and recording volunteer work.- Conducts tours and assists with background checks for volunteers.- Keeps abreast of office technology and supports volunteer training as needed.- Creates relevant documents and marketing materials in coordination with Marketing staff.
