Job Summary
Work in the kitchen at the banquet hall. Responsible for preparing food for activities/events. Responsibilities center on working as a part of a team at events of varying sizes and purposes in the activities department. Events may include concerts, dances, happy hours, trivia nights, luncheons, vendor shows, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares meals and/or snacks in the desiganated areas.
- Maintains cleanliness of dishes, workstations, food storage areas
- Follows work schedule based on needs/activity calendar
- Solicits all required food and supply requirements for preparation and for ordering in a timely manner (shopping required)
- Provides Food Service Coordinator with supply list for purchases, orders supplied in a timely manner (some shopping may be required) and stays within allocated budget
- Maintains inventory of food, supplies and equipment items
- Provides excellent presentation of all food for events
- Ensures kitchen is kept up to State of CO health standards, maintains highest rating
- Checks food integrity/refrigeration temps on regular basis
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Cooking, set up/prep experience, ordering, managing inventory, creativity
- Skills: team management, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, communication, interpersonal, time management, customer service, attention to detail
- Must be flexible and highly adaptable to various situations and resident needs
- Current Colorado Food Handlers Card
- Be available to work nights and weekends
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Activities: Stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk or hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Lifting Requirements: Up to 25 lbs.
- Environment Conditions: Heat, temperature changes, noise, hazard
