Job Summary:
Our ideal candidate will already be familiar with legal drafting, particularly in the area of family law. Note that a paralegal certificate is not needed, but prior experience as a paralegal is a must. This person will also have excellent client service and possess exemplary interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and court dates for attorneys
- Understanding of the legal documents that need reviewed or drafted
- Communicate professionally with clients and other parties involved in cases
- Perform administrative tasks to support the office
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar role
- Proficiency with Word, Calendaring, Eighth Judicial District Court Portal, and Nevada Tylerhost
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedure
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Generally fast typing skills with little mistakes
- Familiarity with proofreading legal documents for accuracy
- Experience conducting interviews with clients or witnesses
