Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-4:30pm with some required overtime

Essential functions

  • Sort and process non-ferrous materials
  • Identify different types of non-ferrous materials
  • Separate non-ferrous materials from other materials
  • Operate machinery and equipment to process materials
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with other tasks as needed

Competencies

  • Experience working in a salvage yard with non-ferrous materials
  • Knowledge of different types of non-ferrous materials
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Physical demands

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Required education and experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred education and experience

  • Knowledgeable with different metals
  • Experience in driving forklift
