What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Rockford Urological Associates?
The Pharmacy Technician works closely with our providers to ensure the health and safety of Rockford Urological Associates patients. They locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by the prescribing physician before being dispensed to the patient.
Duties:
- Assist in preparing and dispensing medication orders
- Perform medication inventory audits and restocking
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles
- Prepare sterile products using aseptic technique
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective medication use
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
