Position is in Los Angeles, CA.
The MDS/PPS Training Director is responsible for training and updates on the MDS to newly hired MDS’ nurses as well as Regional Staff to ensure consistent an ongoing effective knowledge of the MDS.
Qualifications
• Strong background in long-term care with considerable strength and understanding of the MDS/PPS and QI.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written experience.
• Strong teaching skills.
Principal Responsibilities: ADMINISTRATIVE
• Provides Basic/PPS In-services and training to newly hired MDS nurses, DON, Administrative Staff as needed at the request of RVP and RQA.
• Coordinates with RQA nurse to establish training and maintain standards of MDS/PPS completion within each region.
• Participates in teleconference with facility IDT to review PPS log and resident’s plan of care while on skilled care.
• Conducts on-site facility visits on a random basis to review facility’s MDS/PPS program by random record review of selected residents.
• Provides updates on changes of Medicare/PPS and new regulations to the Senior Staff including RQA of each region as received from CMS.
• Attends administrative meetings as required by Senior Staff.
• Coordinates with Senior Therapy Staff regarding Rehab Medicare Coverage in accordance with
Medicare/PPS guidelines.
• Acts as an educational resource to RQA, DONs, and MDS coordinators as needed.
• Acts as liaison with ancillary providers to establish consistent standards of MDS/PPS utilization.

• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adheres to company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensures that all consumer/resident rights are protected.
