Responsibilities:
This job requires you to communicate with customers and subcontractors in the freight industry, schedule & manage shipments, and follow internal processes for paperwork and accounting. As an account manager, you will be assigned to one or more customers whom you will be the main point of contact. You will be responsible for providing quotes, scheduling shipments, scheduling deliveries, qualify shipping companies per customer needs, onboarding new shipping companies if needed, and providing updates to the customers along the way. All of this will be supported by our proprietary in house tools, assets, and methods and multiple resources which we subscribe to.
The day to day tasks are mostly the same but it is hard to predict when exactly we will be busy. Because of this, the account managers, and often management, will step in and help when one or more of the account managers becomes inundated. We all work together as a unit.
Requirements:
Organizational Skills
- Multi task easily - handling a lot of jobs at once and paperwork, don't let things pile up, stays on top of email
- Basic Tech Savvy
- Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Email)
- Some SaaS is a plus
Communication Skills: candidate will need to work with our team efficiently and on occasion speak with clients
- Good on the phone: can keep a calm and respectful demeaner at all times
- Clear communicator with teammates
- Comfortable communicating issues or ideas up to management
- Comfortable asking for help
Experience:
- Experience in team environments/good team working skills: a portion of the work is shared and they need to be able to work with others well
- Logistic industry experience is a plus, especially in freight or distribution
Candidate Personality
- Doesn't get overwhelmed easily
- Doesn't hesitate to ask for help
- Enjoys working in a casual friendly environment, but is able to focus when work gets busy
Education
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
Nice to Have, But Not Necessarily Required
- College degree
- Freight, trucking, or logistics industry experience
- Account Manager Experience
