An education administration program is seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant. Looking for someone you can run bi-weekly payroll, support AP/AR functions, work in the GL, and perform month-end close. The ideal candidate has an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required), and similar work experience.
Requirements
Prepare and maintain financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, including work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
General ledger reconciliation and analysis.
Review of all agency disbursements, including ensuring accurate account coding.
Researching of account budget variances.
Function as a backup for billing operations.
Prepare general journal entries for review by the Controller and/or CFO.
Assure standard accounting procedures are adhered to and supervise the maintenance of the accounting and voucher files.
Assist auditors in performance of annual audit and preparation of audit schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in Accounting
One to three years of progressive accounting experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or other comparable software.
