PRODUCER/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
RSU PUBLIC TELEVISION
POSITION SUMMARY:
Rogers State University is accepting applications for Producer/Technical Director:
Creates and performs local production projects, live and taped for broadcast, including local general interest
programming, public affairs programming, station ID’s, University announcements, features, fillers,
announcements, special production and all other assigned projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as Producer and or Technical Director of broadcast production projects (live and nonlinear),
including our award-winning high school gameshow ‘I Want Answers, RSU Basketball, debates,
selected concert recordings, etc. - Produces, writes and edits underwriting spots and promotions.
- Assists in direct supervision of part-time and work study employees.
- Acts as creative and technical lead on production projects.
- Capable of video acquisition in the field and studio. Assists in maintaining the RSU Public TV website
and updating web content. - Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must be able to produce, write, shoot and nonlinear edit.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally
and in writing. - Ability to interface with full time and student staff. Ability to perform work with strong attention to
detail. - Specific Equipment and Software Knowledge:
Adobe Premiere, Adobe After-Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Tricaster board.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of related experience
or Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) certificate and five (5)
years of related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in technical directing and production.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, walk, lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, push, pull, and carry equipment and supplies.
REPORTS TO:
- Educational Programming Content & Production Manager
SUPERVISION GIVEN TO:
- Student Workers and Volunteers
HOURS:
- Normal office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, 40 hours per week. Special and extraordinary projects can represent
weekend and after-hour working situations. Any additional days or hours needed for work will be assigned as needed,.
POSITION:
- Full-time, FLSA Exempt
