Building Material Sales Representative

 Are you a driven individual passionate about sales and the construction industry? Join our team as a Building Material Sales Representative and be a key player in our success. We’re seeking motivated individuals to drive sales of our high-quality building materials.

Responsibilities:

  •  Build and maintain relationships with customers by providing superior customer service
  • Act as a point of contact by supplying advise and information on products, estimates, and delivery scheduling
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications
  • Process orders and ensure that materials are available for timely shipment
  • Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers' profitability profiles
  • Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes, and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous knowledge and experience in the building materials industry is helpful.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Use rulers, read blueprints, and understand construction practice
  • Quickly and thoroughly learn product information and technical concepts
  • Take ownership responsibility for all assigned tasks
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work with team members 
  • Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening

       • Knowledge of lumber take-offs or willingness to learn

 

Salary Range: $32,000 - 45,000 annually depending on experience, plus commission.
