Specific Role:
The Manager provides operational & training leadership to the rootsCAFE and its employees. They must have a genuine concern assuring the satisfaction of every guest. Represent and act as a representative of Roots in a way that is consistent with our mission statement & policies.
Manager responsibilities include inventory, inventory management, training, scheduling, managing people, and enforcing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive while ensuring our team morale is on the rise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Regular and consistent attendance.
Oversee day-to-day operations.
Design training strategy and set goals for the developmental growth of staff.
Maintain inventory and optimize expenses.
Enforce policies and processes.
Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.
Oversee training of new employees.
Help direct the employee assessment process.
Ensure staff follow health and safety regulations.
Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).
Knowledge of all coupons and ongoing promotions.
Knowledge & maintenance of and promotion of rootsCAFE Loyalty Program.
Exceptional guest service skills.
Handling of all monies and merchandise (including non-saleable and saleable).
Operating, preparing, and cleaning of all cafe-related equipment.
Proper maintenance of all cafe-related storerooms.
Proper use/maintenance of all cleaning materials per SDS.
Knowledge of all opening, closing, and in-between procedures.
Knowledge of all emergency, evacuation, and robbery procedures.
Excellent sales techniques, including upselling and suggestive selling.
Knowledge of counterfeit bill procedures.
Knowledge of and compliance with all local, state and federal food safety laws.
Knowledge and compliance of the dress code.
Ensuring guest satisfaction – smile, greet, and thank all guests.
Responsible for the accuracy of cash drawers, inventory, and coupons.

Education/Experience:
Proven experience in Management or similar role
Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)

Language Ability:

Accountability:
To the General Manager (GM) on a day-to-day basis. The Manager shall keep the GM informed of objectives, programs, and work schedules by means of regular Meetings.
Salary & Benefits:
At the time of his/her annual review, HR shall conduct a performance review & submit per performance appraisal a request for the increase/decrease of compensation of the Manager.
The Manager shall receive time for an annual vacation with pay.
1. 1-5 years of service – 2 weeks of vacation
2. 6-10 years of service – 3 weeks of vacation
3. 11 or more years of service – 4 weeks of vacation
C. The salary and benefits package will include salary and may also include health insurance for the employee and their family.
