Rootstock Wine Bar is seeking a dedicated and passionate Manager to join our team. The Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the wine bar, maintaining high service standards, and creating a memorable experience for our guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Wine Knowledge: Possess a deep knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and pairings to assist customers in making informed choices and provide guidance to the staff.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff, to maintain high standards of service, professionalism, and product knowledge.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing wine inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining proper storage conditions.
- Sommelier Services: Collaborate with the sommelier to curate and update the wine list, suggest wine pairings, and assist with wine-related events and tastings.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food and beverage service, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
- Guest Relations: Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Opening and Closing Procedures: Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, securing the premises, and ensuring the wine bar is properly prepared for service.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as alcohol service laws and regulations.
- Assist with Events: Assist in organizing and hosting wine-related events, tastings, and promotions to engage and expand our customer base.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, payroll, and reporting as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a wine-focused establishment.
- Strong knowledge of wine, including varietals, regions, and pairings.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Leadership and team-building abilities.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Certification as a sommelier (preferred, but not required).
- A passion for wine and a desire to continually learn and grow in the industry.
