Our security consultants are responsible for managing the design and construction administration of our projects. The embedded security consultant role is a full-time position dedicated to one of our most prestigious clients. While the successful candidate will be a Ross & Baruzzini employee, the entirety of the candidate’s responsibilities will be dedicated to managing data center design projects for our client. These data centers help support the way we work, live, and communicate, and are located all over the world. The term of the embedded contract is a minimum of 5 years (but may be indefinite), with annual reviews.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design of projects that are compliant with the client security design program and other design criteria
- Host and participate in design workgroups to coordinate all matters of design: Civil, Structural, Architecture, Landscaping, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Telecom, EPMS, BAS and other design services
- Attend weekly meetings with our client team and provide status updates on ongoing projects and design standard implementation
- Manage a large project portfolio within a set region (either US-West/CANADA or US-East/LATAM)
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within and outside of the client organization, to include:
- Internal: Engineering, Construction, Integration, Land Development, Site Selection and others
- External: land owners, lease providers, utility providers, architects and engineers, contractors and others
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing the design or installation of electronic security systems
- Understanding of construction documentation
- Understanding of computer networks and telecommunications systems
- Good documentation and technical writing skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams
- Exposure to Computer-aided Design software platforms (AutoCAD, Revit) considered strongly beneficial
- Experience designing, installing, or coordinating security systems specifically for data centers considered strongly beneficial
- BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science extremely beneficial, though strong technical experience in the security industry may be considered to meet this requirement
