Role Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Inventory Analyst will play a key role in the development and execution of buying activities to ensure products in the Company’s inventory pipeline. This role will work closely with the Planning and Buying teams and other internal stakeholders to help drive Company success through optimization of the inventory. The ideal candidate is driven to exceed personal and team goals, is always looking to incrementally improve processes and analyses, and is naturally inclined to anticipate risks, take ownership of challenges, and make sound business decisions.
NOTE- this role is for local residents only as you will be working on-site at our Vancouver office.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage inventory that has been purchased and ensure that inventory is prioritized and in the right warehouse location.
- Identify opportunities to move inventory between locations and work with the logistics team to ensure moves.
- Actively manage inventory in the pipeline to minimize cross country transfers.
- Partner with key stakeholders in identifying and managing risks and opportunities to maintain financial goals
- Collaborate within the buying department in translating inventory planning to concrete buying plans.
- Manage ad-hoc analyses and special projects as requested by our Executive and Finance Leadership team.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree (Business degree preferred)
- 5 years of progressive, relevant experience (experience in a similar industry is a strong plus)
- Buying or planning experience is preferred
- Experience working in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and is a team player, willing to always support the team
- Strong analytical mindset
- Ability to strategically and creatively solve complex problems within a dynamic and changing environment.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills and the ability to guide and influence Senior Leadership
- Experience evaluating business performance metrics and translating to actionable recommendations.
- Experience with BI-related/reporting software or similar tools and technologies is a plus
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel required, ability to build, maintain, and update complex Excel models is a plus
