Maintenance Technician- Dairy Processing Plant

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be based out of the Longmont Processing and Bottling Plant. This facility is not a farm based location, and does not intersect with agricultural animals. His/her primary function in the Facility will be Plant Maintenance and Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance.

Hours are approximately 12pm to 9pm M-F. Pay range is $30-$35 per hour DOE.

Job Responsibilities:

• Strong long-term planning and organization skills to deal with preventive maintenance needs.
• Understand and ability to apply electrical knowledge of 24v, 115v, 208-230v, 277v, 480v, plus 1 and 3 phase wiring and controls.
• Will perform repairs such as complete overhauls and the replacement of defective parts on various pieces of equipment as needed.
• Will carry out all preventative tasks on a daily/weekly/monthly and annual basis. Ammonia-based refrigeration knowledge is a plus.
• Will observe and monitor all readings on gauges, meters, and charts while making proper adjustments needed to meet regulatory, mechanical, and production purposes.
• Will respond to all emergency requests quickly and must be willing to include after-hour needs.
• Dairy bottling plant experience is a huge plus.

Job Requirements:

• Must have your own set of tools. The shop will carry all major tools.*
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.**
• Must be a self starter.**
• Strong electrical and PLC knowledge is a plus as well as ability to apply it to daily tasks.*
• We prefer knowledge and practical site experience with NH3/Ammonia Refrigeration systems
• to include Ammonia Compressors, Evaporators, Condensers, Pumps and Ice Machines.
• Must have experience with OSHA CFR 1910.119 (PSM) Process Safety Management.*
• Must have working knowledge of Boilers, chemical treatment and testing skills and must have good record keeping skills.**
• Must have working knowledge of Air compressed systems; Pneumatics, Floor Conveyors, Electrical, Motor Controls, Welding, Hydraulics, Carpentry and Plumbing are a must.*
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders, and stand/walk for long periods of time throughout the shift.
• Must be willing to work and keep up in a fast paced environment.
