Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded medications following established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and sterile work environment in compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate prescription interpretation and fulfillment.
- Perform calculations and measurements necessary for compounding medications accurately.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of compounding supplies and medications, ensuring proper storage and expiration date management.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of compounded medications and related activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of contamination and promote a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
Requirements:
- Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
- Proven experience working as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician, preferably in sterile compounding.
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques, aseptic procedures, and USP <797> and <800> guidelines.
- Familiarity with chemotherapy compounding and handling hazardous drugs.
- Proficient in pharmacy software systems and technology used in compounding operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing calculations and measurements.
