What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Manager position at RSM?
- Responsible for relationship management with functional business leaders to ensure day-to-day operations function consistently and in alignment with firm strategy e.g. talent/client experience, employee engagement, retention & culture/diversity/inclusion and recognition initiatives
- Build strong relationships with business leaders across the firm in order to understand talent trends, business needs, business direction and business strategy in order to deliver solutions that support positive results
- In partnership with COE’s, as well as HR Market & LOB peers seek to find increased efficiencies while maintaining quality client service
- Lead the delivery of RSM Talent strategy in alignment with firm strategy and to be consistent across the matrix
- Integrates, aligns and embeds culture of diversity and inclusion in activities and initiatives
- Coach leaders and help develop plans for career growth, leadership opportunities, mobility and succession
- Leverages existing reports (recognition, feedback) to gather, organize data, conduct basic analysis, and develop conclusions
- Employee Relations/Compliance
- Coaches and advises employees and leaders on performance and interpersonal issues
- Drafts and delivers complex employee counseling reports (ECR)
- Works with employee relations team regarding investigations
- Performance Management/Salary Administration
- Educates and advises local leadership on compensation objectives, bonus programs, and applicable regulations
- Facilitate talent development meetings including year-end promotion and compensation recommendations
- Business Fluency to understand how the firm operates and identify and interpret levers that impact firm performance
- Knowledgeable of relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and sets a high standard for self and team to ensure compliance
- Responsible for the delivery of core HR services including: planning staffing levels; orientation, on-boarding, and local office training
- Responsible for a Portfolio that may include leading and reviewing results of large scope and/or projects, assignments and big picture strategic problem solving. May include projects e.g. Onboarding, Coaching, Compensation
- Collaborates with other business advisors e.g. TA, LPD, Finance, Marketing, Resource mgmt to support talent strategy and firm initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- Education/certifications:
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field required
- PHR required
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
- Basic business acumen and understanding of industry and partnership model required
- Demonstrated ability to identify patterns of complex patterns of risk & liability, challenges and resolves issues, makes effective recommendation on course of action, and understands when to escalate complex issues required
- Demonstrates current working knowledge of federal, state, local regulations/laws and firm policies required
- Understands compensation materials and principles required
- Effective organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks required
- Strong attention to detail required
- Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement; serve as a change agent required
- Operates with a sense of urgency required
- Leadership skills:
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective team member by willingly accepting assignments, completing assignments within agreed upon timelines and willingly assisting co-workers required.
- Ability to supervise, direct, and review the results of projects or assignments required
- Previous professional services experience preferred
- Ability to attract, lead, motivate, and retain a team required
- Ability to support, affect, and implement change required
- Ability to impact and influence a diverse population required
- Ability to diffuse hostile situations and manage conflict appropriately required
- Sets highest personal standard for driving quality in all areas of HR services required

- Previous project or team management experience preferred
