OVERVIEW:
Construction Innovations is seeking a strong leader with a passion for construction to serve as a Sr. Project Manager (Team/People Manager). This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of a portfolio of projects within a division. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a strong customer focus who has extensive experience in the construction industry along with experience in a manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the profit/loss of the assigned portfolio, as well as the establishment and adherence to budgets.
- Develop volume and profitability goals of the portfolio to ensure they support meeting division goals.
- Ensure regular feedback from project management to sales and estimating is effectively delivered and acted upon.
- Oversee design activities and deliverables to ensure conformance to project requirements and budgets.
- Manage contract review and approval process and ensure timely execution.
- Ensure timely invoicing and collection for project contracts and agreements.
- Analyze project financial data and report trends and anomalies.
- Review, adjust, and report on monthly cost projections.
- Obtain regular feedback from clients and resolve issues as needed.
- Establish and report on portfolio performance metrics.
- Evaluate the overall direction and performance of the portfolio and recommend new strategies to support continuous improvement.
- Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of departmental processes and procedures.
- Participate in operations meetings as needed to ensure Operations Team direction is aligned with the portfolio goals.
- Identify and manage departmental resources and schedules.
- Directly supervise Project Managers within the portfolio.
- Oversee team member recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and issue resolution.
- Identify skill gaps and continuous education needs, and facilitate training as needed for team members.
- Travel as often as required to support the needs of the projects and goals of the division.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Project Manager spends most of their time either in an office environment or at the project site, but may also spend time at the company’s manufacturing plant. The office is an open and collaborative space where you will work independently and with the team. When on-site, you will be in a construction environment, which may be in fairly remote rural locations, and where you may encounter extreme weather conditions. When at the plant, you will be in a more traditional manufacturing environment, with higher noise levels and frequent movement of people and equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
- Ability to hear with or without correction to receive and interpret detailed information.
- Required to sit at a desk workstation for long periods.
- Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
- Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Required to have visual acuity with or without correction to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proofread documents to identify errors.
- Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
- May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Career advancement at Construction Innovations is possible with all positions but is not guaranteed. Advancement could be within the current department or to other departments within the company.
LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA, and Mather, CA.
COMPENSATION:
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $55,900.00 - 156,400.00. The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, financial, and operational management skills
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience managing a team of direct reports
- Minimum 7 years work experience in electrical construction, manufacturing, and/or engineering industries
- Minimum 4 years project management experience
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and their components
- BS degree in engineering, other technical discipline, or management preferred
- CA Professional Engineers (PE) license and/or PMP certification preferred

Salary : $97,300 - $156,400
