What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Supervisor position at RTI International?
The Division for Research Services (DRS) is seeking a Regional Supervisor for a variety of field and multi-mode studies. DRS provides high quality research services for all primary data collection contracts. The DRS unit manages state-of-the-art data collection and management systems and has developed best-in-class data collection protocols to support all types of survey data collection efforts. DRS is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing data collection staff for in-person field interviewing. Regional Supervisors work under the direction of a Data Collection Task Leader (DTCL) or other senior project person and have direct management duties of field interviewers and/or field supervisors. Regional Supervisors are expected to lead the recruitment and management of field data collection staff.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines
- Coordinate and manage hiring of field staff
- Monitor data collection production, quality, costs, budget and schedule for their area of supervision
- Lead efforts to investigate and resolve data collection performance problems
- Develop and implement effective data collection plans
- Serve as lead or assistant trainer for interviewer/field supervisor training
- Develop and/or provide technical input into for training manuals, training guides, mock interviews and other training exercises
- Write sections of training guides and manuals
- Review and develop project specific reports
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associates Degree
- 5 years of experience directly supervising field data collection staff
- Available to travel for one week or more several times yearly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on the National Survey on Drug Usage and Health (NSDUH) project
- Experience on RTI International studies supervising field data collection staff
