Ruan is hiring a VP - Brokerage Sales. As a Vice President of Brokerage Sales you will be responsible for prospecting new customers and closing new business within the medium to large corporate world. You will leverage Ruan's strong brokerage support team in order to achieve personal sales goals. This is a new sales role for Ruan as we look to grow our Brokerage services at a fast pace. You will need strong persuasion skills and an aggressive growth attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect with a “hunter” mentality using your industry contacts and networking
- Work daily with Ruan's Business Development team to develop warm leads into new business
- Build and manage your pipeline of new opportunities through Ruan's CRM Salesforce
- Develop solid relationships with new accounts
- Work with Ruan's Brokerage support teams to establish pricing strategy and account execution plans
- Arrange for in-person presentations to close the business and continue relationship building
- Establish credit terms and business requirements with the customer in-line with Ruan's goals and requirements
- Continue with account management after the sale, as needed, with a focus on further growth
- Review sales activity weekly with Management
- Continue self-development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years minimum sales or account experience in brokerage services
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate successfully across all levels of a customer's organization, including C-Level
- Ability to work in a team environment and influence at multiple levels, both external and internal as required.
- Must have excellent negotiation skills
- Have a high level of understanding of freight brokerage and transportation economics
- Ability to quickly learn and understand Ruan's Brokerage services offering. Must be able to convey service/value vs. price., through listening to the customer, and being able to create solutions that provide high customer satisfaction.
- Must have strong math, computer systems, problem solving and oral presentation skills. Must be able to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a great communicator!
- Requires the ability to set priorities and accomplish duties of position with minimal direct supervision and direction.
- Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Salesforce CRM and ability to learn various Transportation/Logistics software applications.
