Pay Range: $115k - $140k (Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience, etc.)

Overview:  

Help governments and businesses save money, drive efficiencies, and become more sustainable by joining the Smart City team. The Rubicon Smart City team sells a suite of software solutions that helps local governments and private companies run their fleets more efficiently, effectively, and sustainably. Rubicon’s products can be deployed across virtually any fleet to help reduce costs, improve service, and contribute to an enhanced quality of life for citizens.  

Rubicon offers route optimization consulting services for complex fleet operations, including solid waste, snow, and street sweeper fleets. Powered by our routing software FleetRoute™, Rubicon employs a highly iterative professional service to design new routes that incorporate operational constraints while meeting each customer’s explicit goals.  

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant to oversee route optimization consulting projects and provide exceptional results for our customers. The successful candidate will effectively manage customer relationships, oversee project delivery, and drive the growth and success of our route optimization services. Responsibilities: 

1.      Client Management: 

·       Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are understood and effectively addressed. 

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their business challenges and providing strategic solutions. 

·       Develop and deliver interim and final deliverables that visualize results, synthesize insights, and tell the story to address customer objectives.  

·       Train customers on our route optimization product FleetRoute® when applicable  

2.      Project Leadership: 

·       Lead and oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction. 

·       Accurately scope projects prior to project initiation. 

·       Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage project budgets to achieve successful outcomes. 

·       Effectively communicate timelines and project plans with customer and internal team members to ensure projects are completed on time and with customer transparency. 

3.      Quality Assurance: 

·       Ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services by implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes. 

·       Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to route optimization to ensure consistency and best practices 

·       Conduct regular reviews and assessments to measure project success and identify areas for improvement. 

4.      Business Development: 

·       Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers. 

·       Work in concert with the broader Smart City team, to sell and deliver route optimization solutions to customers. 

5.      Product Expertise: 

·       Develop an expertise in the FleetRoute product—Rubicon’s routing solution—to provide the highest quality deliverables for customers. 

·       Develop a deep understanding of complex heavy-duty fleet operations, particularly solid waste, snow, and sweeper operations. 

·       Collaborate across the Smart City team to build compelling new solution offerings that resonate with customers and address unmet needs.  

Qualifications: 

·       Bachelor's degree required. 

·       Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or consulting with at least 3 years of industry experience in transportation and logistics. 

·       Management consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management 

·       Proven experience facilitating meetings and presenting to large groups or senior leadership.  

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders. 

·       Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. 

·       Ability to develop project plans in a variety of visualization formats (i.e., GANTT, Kanban) and work in different project management methodologies.  

·       Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering value to customers. 

·       Excellent written and verbal communicator. Ability to explain complex, technical concepts in plain language. 

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) 

·       Experience in ESRI, ArcGIS, and Salesforce preferred; QGIS experience is a plus. 

·       Prior experience with municipal fleets and/or routing logistics a plus.  

·       Experience in financial modeling is a plus 

·       PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
