Description
The Human Resources Manager will oversee the day-to-day aspects of Human Resources to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives. HR duties involve partnering with front line leaders in managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, training & development and talent management. Leads the departments direct reports for Human Resources.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversight of day-to-day Human Resources transactions for employee movement (new hire, termination, position change, promotion etc.).
- Implements employee benefits programs, assesses needs and trends, recommends programs to management and conducts open enrollment.
- Interprets and administers company policies and procedures related to employee relations and workplace conduct, and ensures that policies are up-to-date, compliant with relevant laws, communicated effectively to employees, and consistently enforced. Conducts investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
- Oversees the maintenance of accurate and confidential employee records and data related to employee relations matters. Prepares reports and analytics to monitor employee relations trends and identify areas for improvement or intervention.
- Coach leaders on HR policies and processes, including employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, EEO programs, organizational development and employee learning and development.
- Develop a thoughtful, integrated approach to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.
- Utilizes engagement surveys, stay/exit interviews and turnover/absenteeism data to advise leadership on culture, work environment, policies and other associate impacts that may require adjustments or changes.
- Advises and trains managers and supervisors on ER best practices and strategies for evaluating culture, managing associate issues and providing assistance when needed.
- Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements pertaining to wages, grievances, employee welfare, healthcare benefits, union and management practices.
- Manage relationships with Union employees and Union representatives and facilitate dispute resolution directly and through consultation and coaching of managers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead the Human Resources HR Generalist team.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relative field
- 5 years’ experience of Human Resources management experience
- 3 years of experience in Labor relations and employee relations
- Experience with ADP or Paylocity
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office software and internet search engines.
- Fluent in Spanish – reading writing, conversation, and oral translation
